This work focuses on the gradient showing how the material has been affected by use and time. Items often hold on to memory and time in a physical manner. Time is a reoccurring theme in my work; as well as memory, nostalgia and tactility. The same way our bodies scar over time and change so do the things we use, and the only common denominator is time.

This piece is primarily constructed out of jean pockets. Additionally it includes metal, mirrors, resin, zippers and jean waistbands. The union of materials in the piece represent their deterioration over time, the metal appears rusted and the jean gradient reflects the sun bleaching and washes per use. The inclusion of the mirror forces the viewer to ponder how they interact with jeans and time.
40"x60"

The smallest of the series, this piece focuses on labor. It features the same technique exposing the untouched denim from the seam that has not been weathered. The contrast of color is direct reflection of how many times the jeans were worn and worked in. The vertical lines resemble a cityscape the scene for mass industry and production.
